AAC Brigham VB
AAC Brigham VB is a Canada Western Amber Durum variety that offers strong performance across a range of growing conditions, including dry environments. It has a maturity similar to Strongfield and delivers high protein levels comparable to that standard. This variety features large kernel size, short plant height, and strong straw, contributing to excellent standability and ease of harvest. AAC Brigham VB also carries wheat midge tolerance and a solid overall disease resistance package. With its combination of high grain yield, good end-use quality, and desirable pasta colour, AAC Brigham VB is a reliable option for durum producers across Western Canada.
SECAN Durum : NEW 2027
AAC Frontier
Available fall 2026 for the 2027 crop year AAC Frontier is a new CWAD durum variety from the AAFC breeding program in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, combining strong yield potential with improved disease resistance. It is the first Canadian durum with a Resistant (R) rating to ergot and offers Intermediate (I) resistance to Fusarium head blight, comparable to AAC Schrader, helping reduce DON risk. It also carries Resistant (R) ratings to leaf, stem, and stripe rust. AAC Frontier is a short- to medium-height variety with mid-season maturity, well suited to southern Saskatchewan and Alberta. It delivers strong end-use quality, including low cadmium, high protein, and high falling numbers, making it a solid option for producers targeting both performance and market quality.

AAC Schrader
AAC Schrader is the first CWAD variety rated ‘I’ (Intermediate) for Fusarium Head Blight, offering the highest level of FHB resistance currently available in this class. It delivers very high yield potential along with excellent standability, comparable to Brigade. AAC Schrader is a medium-height variety with high grain protein content, similar to Strongfield.

AAC Stronghold
AAC Stronghold is a solid-stem Canada Western Amber Durum variety with excellent yield potential and short, strong straw. Its solid stem provides strong tolerance to wheat stem sawfly, making it well suited for areas where this pest is a concern. AAC Stronghold also offers a well-rounded disease resistance package, along with high test weight, good gluten strength, desirable pasta colour, and low grain cadmium levels. It is well adapted for production across all durum-growing regions of Western Canada.
