ABOUT US

Quattro Farms was born out of collaboration, curiosity, and a shared belief that farming is stronger when knowledge and resources are brought together.

Our Story

Our roots trace back to the mid 1990s in the Bow Island area, where a group of progressive farm families began meeting as part of the Palliser Triangle Marketing Club. At a time when agriculture was facing significant economic pressure, these producers came together to learn, share ideas, and explore better farming practices. Over time, those conversations evolved beyond marketing and into a larger question: what could be achieved if farms truly worked together?

That question led to the creation of Quattro in 2010, when four family farms formally joined forces. A fifth family later joined in 2018, strengthening the venture and expanding its capabilities. While each farm remains an independent business, Quattro operates as a farmer owned joint venture built on shared land, labour, equipment, and decision making. This collaborative model allows us to capture efficiencies of scale while preserving family ownership, accountability, and local stewardship.

Today, Quattro Farms supports a highly diversified operation across irrigated and dryland acres in southern Alberta. Our crops span more than two dozen commodities, including grains, pulses, seed canola, potatoes, sugar beets, hemp, forage crops, and specialty products such as mint and other essential oil crops. This diversity helps manage risk, encourages innovation, and allows us to respond to emerging markets.

From the beginning, Quattro has been built on trust, transparency, and thoughtful planning. Years were spent crafting a governance and management structure that balanced fairness with efficiency and kept each farm family invested in the success of the whole. That structure continues today through a hands-on board and a leadership team made up of farmer-owners and experienced professionals who share a commitment to collaboration.

At its core, Quattro Farms exists to create opportunity for families, employees, and the next generation of farmers. By working together, we continue to challenge conventional approaches, adopt new crops and technologies, and build a resilient operation rooted in southern Alberta agriculture.
